Growing up, watching Westminster on TV was always exciting. It’s like the Super Bowl of dogs shows. It’s prestigious and a bit glamorous as far as dog shows go. The best dogs and handlers are on display. I loved every minute of our bucket-list adventure there for the 150th edition of the show in New York City, and hope to be back as often as I have a competitive dog to exhibit.
I showed Lyric — Gr. Ch. Fantasy’s Autumn-Sun Written In The Stars — at the 150th Westminster in 2026. She was awarded Select Bitch among a lovely entry by a Collie breeder judge that I have deep respect for, Joe Reno. Lyric was bred by Debbie Holland and Bob Mondillo, sired by Gr. Ch. Fantasy’s Look To The Stars, out of Ch Aurealis Sayitwithasmile.
Along with Rough Collies, it was also fun to step into the show ring with one of my French Bulldogs, Ellie — Gr. Ch. Hotei Koi Pond Deux One Tuff Cookie. The entry for Frenchies was significant — over 30 beautiful, top-quality dogs. While Ellie didn’t make a cut, she showed beautifully and it was a thrilling experience.
